Sometimes I find wines at events, exhibitions and other industry sources. Much of the time I am introduced to wines by friends or colleagues and once in a while it is just dumb luck that I find an amazing wine. I was looking for a champagne that was not from one of the 'Grand Maisons' and found this outstanding bottle of fizz.
I have always been partial to the 'Blanc de Blancs' style probably because I love Chardonnay and the orchard fruit flavours it possesses usually with a crisp acidity that make it such a light easy going wine. We recently served this at one of our 'degustation' events and it went down, shall we say, rather well.
This is a softer Blanc de Blancs with a little less acidity and lovely creamy mousse that make it very easy to enjoy and perfect for a drinks reception and excuse the pun, facilitates great 'Conversation'.
Nose: Plenty of digestive biscuit, butter and pastry on the nose. Some tart apple gives way to more tropical flavours.
Palate: Some pineapple, sherbet and a little baked Alaska with fine mousse and light balanced acidity.
